Kyrgyz President Askar Akayev has announced that his country is full of resolution to develop full-scale cooperation with Russia in various spheres.
He stressed that for Russia, Kyrgyzstan was a reliable ally that wished to join it on the way into the 21st century.
He said it was symbolical that Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to Kyrgyzstan coincided with the 10th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries and with the 10th anniversary of the signing of a Russian-Kyrgyz Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation.
According to Akayev, his talks with the Russian leader were held in an atmosphere of true understanding, which characterizes the relationship between Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
Commenting on the documents they signed on Thursday, the Kyrgyz president called them a logical consequence to truly friendly and good-neighbourly relations between the two countries.
