On November 22nd Kabul is to host an international conference on Afghanistan, a source in Moscow revealed to RIA Novosti. Foreign Ministers from Afghanistan's neighboring states such as China, Pakistan, Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan will participate in the conference.
Permanent member-states of the UN Security Council have been invited to the conference as observers.
The meeting was initiated by Kabul. Afghanistan's provisional administration is afraid that a number of neighboring states can take measures aimed at restoring the Taliban regime in Afghanistan, according to the source. The conference participants are to pass a declaration "On Good Neighborhood".
The time of the conference will coincide with the first anniversary of Afghanistan's provisional government coming to power.
