Russian and South Korean finance ministries will conduct a routine round of negotiations on issues pertaining to the Russian debt to the Republic of Korea on Friday, November 29 in Moscow. This information was provided by Russian co-chairman of the intergovernmental commission on economic, scientific and technical cooperation, minister of industry, science and technologies Ilya Klebanov.
Klebanov pointed out earlier that Russia had already submitted the draft agreement on debt settlement for consideration of its South Korean colleagues. It is expected that the current round of negotiations will be devoted precisely to this question.
According to Klebanov, the agreement on the settlement of the debt of Russia to South Korea may be signed already by the end of the year. The positive development of negotiations between the financial ministries of the two countries provides grounds for such assessments.
According to the Russian side, the debt of the country to South Korea amounts to 1.8 billion US dollars. The South Korean side, in its part, estimates the Russian debt at 1.95 billion dollars.
