The international scientific-practical conference "Linguistic and Cultural Aspects Of Teaching Russian Language and Literature: the State and Prospects" opens in the capital of Uzbekistan on Monday.
The National University of Uzbekistan, the "Uzbekistan-Russia" friendship society, the Russian embassy and Roszarubezhtsentr in Uzbekistan are the organizers of this international forum of Russian language and literature specialists.
Taking part in the conference will be scientists of the Moscow State University, Russian University of Peoples' Friendship, the St. Petersburg State University, the Pushkin State Institute of the Russian Language and Literature, the international association of teachers of the Russian language and literature, the University of Khakassia, the Tallinn University, and universities of Uzbekistan. A total of 90 reports are expected to be made.
The participants in the conference will consider the specific features of teaching the Russian language as a foreign language. The Roszarubezhtsentr mission in Uzbekistan reported that specialists will also discuss the study of the Russian language as a native language in Uzbekistan and Estonia because there are a lot of Russian-speaking citizens in these two countries.
