At their meeting in New York, Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov and his Indian counterpart Jaswant Singh discussed the questions concerning the preparation for the coming visit to India by the head of the Russian state, Vladimir Putin. According to the information of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ministers expressed satisfaction with "the consistent and dynamic" development of the whole complex of relations between the two states.
The sides also discussed the questions of bilateral cooperation and interaction of Moscow and Delhi on key international and regional problems. Igor Ivanov and Jaswant Singh have agreed to continue the cooperation between the two countries in the international arena.
During their meeting the ministers paid considerable attention to the further development of trade and economic relations between the two countries. They pointed out the great potential of Russia and India in the power industry, in the military-technological cooperation, in outer space, communications and in high technologies.
