The tension in the relations between Russia and Georgia will not influenceRussian-Armenian collaboration, Russian Ambassador Extraordinary andPlenipotentiary to Armenia Anatoly Dryukov stated. He pointed out that therelations between Armenia and Russia "can be envied by any state" and saidthat both the Armenian and the Russian peoples were interested in thecontinuation of friendship and collaboration.Commenting on the statement by Russian president Vladimir Putin on thesituation at the Russian-Georgian border, the Ambassador pointed out thatthis statement was imposed by the desire of the Russian government toeliminate "the hearth of terrorism in the Pankisi gorge". According to him,the statement of the Russian President precisely points out that Russia isnot going to take any specific measures if Georgian authorities create asecurity zone at the border with Russia.
