Today, Speaking at a briefing in Kiev, Ukraine's Minister of Interior, Anatoly Zlenko said Ukraine intended to have the water border with Russia delimited.
According to the minister, Ukraine has been attentively studying Russia's suggestions as to the delimitation of the bottom of the Kerch Bay and the Azov Sea. Kiev says the suggestions are good but not good enough. Besides the bottom, Ukraine insists, the water surface must also be delimited.
Ukrainian analysts find such delimitation advantageous mostly for Kiev. If this is done, Ukraine will receive a new large income from the Russian companies fishing in the Ukrainian part of the Azov Sea. 'Of course', Mr. Zlenko said, 'Ukraine is not going to expel everyone from her part of the sea. Navigation and fishing will continue but become mutually profitable.
