US and Russian coast guards to discuss interaction

A delegation of officers of the 17th district of the US Coast Guard headedby Rear Admiral James Underwood arrived at the Kamchatka peninsula onRussia's Far East. Mikhail Mikhalchev, Deputy Commander of theNorth-Eastern regional department of the Russian Border Service, met the USmilitary at the airport. The Russian and US officers will specify theirplans of joint border protection activities, fishing control andanti-pouching measures to be taken in the conventional zones of the PacificOcean next year. Head of the North-Eastern regional department of theRussian Border Service Nikolay Lisinsky and James Underwood will sign anumber of corresponding documents. The US delegation will stay on Kamchatkauntil September 14. .
