US will attack Iraq in force before November 31

A US military attack on Iraq will be launched before November 31, senior US military officers said after visiting Israel recently, the Israeli News Online agency reported. The American officers noted that the attack would begin with a massive air bombardment of Iraq and shelling from the sea. Then special units will land on Iraq's territory.

According to the officers, the main aims of the US armed forces in a future war with Iraq are to overthrow the ruling regime and to physically eliminate Saddam Hussein.

The American military also claimed that the entire operation in Iraq would take several weeks.
