President Georgi Purvanov of Bulgaria plans to pay a working visit to Russia on September 18th-20th, a RIA Novosti correspondent was told in the Bulgarian Embassy in Moscow.
The Bulgarian leader is expected to be accompanied by legislators, government officials, businessmen and cultural figures.
According to the presidential spokesman, the topics at the top of the agenda of the forthcoming visit are: trade intensification, economic, cultural and scientific cooperation, preparations for the 125th anniversary of Bulgaria's liberation from the Turkish yoke and cooperation within the framework of international organisations.
The invitation to the Bulgarian President to visit Russia was sent this April by the Russian leader, Vladimir Putin. He underscored the readiness of Moscow "to an all possible development of bilateral cooperation and to bringing it to a new qualitative level."
