On Monday, Tajik President Emomali Rakhmonov and Commander of the US Central Command Tommy Franks discussed acute problems of the anti-terrorist operation in Afghanistan, the peace process in this country and further actions to be taken by the international coalition.
According to Zafar Saidov, the Tajik president's spokesman, the American general informed Rakhmonov about the current stage of the anti-terrorist operation and his perspective of Afghanistan's recovery prospects after the war and development of the regional situation in general.
The Tajik President has reaffirmed his position that the international forces' mandate should be valid in all of Afghanistan's provinces. According to Rakhmonov, the international community must pay more attention to the creation of Afghanistan's national forces and structures capable of maintaining security in the country.
