Meanwhile, Russia has lifted visa requirements for Chinese citizens until September 14, 2026. President Vladimir Putin signed the decree, which was published on the official legal information portal.

The decree allows Chinese citizens to enter Russia and stay for up to 30 days without a visa, under the principle of reciprocity. They may travel for tourism, business, or participation in scientific, cultural, socio-political, economic, and sporting events. Transit through Russia is also permitted using a standard Chinese passport.

The rules do not apply to those intending to reside, work, including journalistic activity, or study in Russia. The 30-day visa-free period also excludes international truck drivers, vehicle crew members, and accompanying translators.
