President Vladimir Putin confirmed that the United States recognizes the Ukrainian issue requires difficult solutions during a bilateral meeting with his Belarusian counterpart, Alexander Lukashenko, according to TASS.
During their conversation, Lukashenko emphasized to the Russian leader that the American side should understand that the Ukrainian question is complex and demands challenging decisions.
"It seems to me that such understanding exists,"
noted Putin.
The bilateral meeting took place in Kyrgyzstan, where Putin arrived on an official visit. Lukashenko arrived in the country on November 26, as reported by the Telegram channel Pul Pervogo.
Russia always remembers and values Minsk's constructive contribution to the negotiation process on the Ukraine conflict. Putin praised Lukashenko for his role in the peace talks, stating:
"You are one of those people striving to bring the conflict to an end. We remember your contribution to resolving the conflict. All efforts undertaken by Belarus from the very first days yielded positive results."
Lukashenko responded that Belarus's efforts in the negotiation process stem from its status as an ally and a country closely connected to Russia.
