At least 11 peacemakers from the KFOR international contingent were wounded during a clash with Albanians near the town of Kosovska Mitrovica. According to the temporary press service of the KFOR stationed in the town of Prishtina, a group of Albanian demonstrators protesting against the arrest of the leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army began throwing rocks at the office of the Commandant of the peacemaking contingent. The wounded include an officer from the Russian battalion hit in the head with a rock.
Because the demonstrators were very aggressive, the peacemakers were forced to use teargas. The demonstration was dispersed, 5 people arrested. This is the eighth such attack on the KFOR perpetrated by Albanians over the past month.
