Invited by Colonel General Konstantin Totsky, the head of the Federal Border Guard Service of Russia, Lieutenant General Hannu Ahonen the Chief of the Finnish Border Guard Service, Accompanied by Commander Timo Ekstein, Lieutenant-colonel Pasi Kostamovaara, and Captain Teyo Pakarinen, will visit Russia during this week.
According to Lieutenant-colonel Pasi Kostamovaara, the guests will spend August 14 and 15 in Moscow. On August 16, they will visit the city of Pskov, and on August 17 will return to Moscow, then fly to Helsinki. This annual official visit will be done under the programme of cooperation of the border guard services of the two countries. In June, Konstantin Totsky visited Finland.
Mr. Kostamovaara said, discussed during the meeting will be cooperation between the border guards of Russia and Finland, the situation at the border, and the prospects of cooperation between the border guard services of all the countries in the Baltic region. Traditionally, a mutual protocol will be signed.
