Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze welcomes the fact that the Abkhazian conflict has recently become a topic for discussion with the US and Russian presidents.
"A positive development in the problem settlement is that the Abkhazian conflict has become not a non-essential topic for discussion with the Russian and US presidents," he said on Monday in a traditional interview with the National Radio.
According to polls, an absolute majority of the Georgian population supports the peaceful Georgian-Abkhazian dialog seeking settlement to the situation, the president stressed. The whole world believes the policy of the Georgian authorities seeking to settle the conflict peacefully has no other alternative, he said.
