A Russian booster rocket will launch the first algerian satellite into orbit

In autumn this year the Russian booster rocket "Kosmos" (Space) manufactured in the Siberian city of Omsk will put the first Algerian satellite "Alsat-1" into orbit. Recently the satellite underwent technical examination in the British space center.

According to the information provided to RIA Novosti in the press service of the administration of the Omsk region, Alsat-1 is the component part of the group of 7 micro-satellites designed to monitor catastrophes and natural calamities. All satellites will be launched within the next two years from the Plesetsk cosmodrome in northern Russia.

Seven countries of Europe, Asia and Africa are participating in the project. The Omsk booster rocket was chosen for its excellent technical specifications which ensured required accuracy of space aircraft orbit placement.
