A group of Russia's Arctic-based Northern Fleet warships is to arrive at the port of Reykjavik, Iceland, on an official visit Saturday. The Fleet Command told RIA Novosti the visit is paid in the framework of a military-diplomatic mission intended to underscore Russia's status as a great naval power.
The group includes a large anti-submarine warfare ship and a supply tanker. Upon completion of the visit to Iceland, the two ships would set off for Britain, where Russian seamen are to attend the celebrations of Navy Days later this month.
