Prime Minister Thaksin Chinnawat of Thailand will pay a visit to Russia at the end of 2002, reported the Thai foreign ministry.
The main aim of his visit is to expand and strengthen cooperation between the two states. The date of the visit will be specified after the delegation of Thailand, headed by the Foreign Minister, arrives in Moscow.
According to the Foreign Ministry of Thailand, the details of this visit were discussed at the meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov during the ASEAN Forum which ended several days ago in Brunei. Thaksin Chinnawat intends to invite Russian President Vladimir Putin to visit Thailand in October 2003 when the summit of the leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation will take place in Bangkok.
