An international conference on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Cuban crisis will be held in Cuba in 2002, Deputy Chairman of the Cuban Council of Ministers Jose Ramon Fernandes told a news conference in Havana on Wednesday.
According to him, the forum - The October Crisis: A Political Point of View Forty Years Later - will be attended by representatives of the former Soviet Union and the Unites States who had to do with the adoption of political decisions during the events of 1962. In particular, the invitations have been sent to the advisers of the then President of the United States, John F. Kennedy.
The conference devoted to the crisis, which put the world on the brink of a nuclear war, is to take place on October 11th-12th in the Havana Palace of Congresses.
