The Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and the American CPR Institute for Dispute Resolution have signed a protocol of intent. The protocol was signed in New York by Boris Titov, the chairman of the Russian union, and Peter Phillips, the vice-president of the US institute. The document envisages cooperation and an exchange of experience between the Russian union and the US institute on resolving corporate disputes without resorting to court action and on investigating ethical disputes. According to Boris Titov, the signing of the protocol is 'a step towards international cooperation and the use of international experience to resolve corporate disputes.'
The Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs founded its Commission for Corporate Ethics on September 11, 2002 with the aim of introducing to Russia the practice of resolving corporate conflicts without resorting to court action and investigating ethical disputes between corporations.
