The Council of CIS Heads of State (SGG) will consider measures on further boosting of activities of CIS bodies and development of their structure in Chisinau on October 7th.
Thirteen basic items were included in the agenda of the forthcoming meeting, the press service of the CIS Executive Committee told RIA Novosti.
The presidents will be informed of the implementation of top priority measures over the 2000-2001 period and of proposals on long-term tasks of creating a free trade area taking into account the development of economic processes in the world community.
In addition, the presidents will consider the execution of November 30th, 2001 SGG decision on sending observers to parliamentary elections in Ukraine and presidential and parliamentary elections in Armenia.
The interstate programme of joint anti-criminal measures for 2003-2004, the concept of cooperation on combating illegal trafficking of drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors and the programme of improvement of border cooperation are also on the agenda.
In addition, they are expected to discuss the creation of a department of the CIS Anti-terrorist Centre for Central Asia and the protocol on the introduction of amendments into Article 3 of January 25th, 2000 protocol to the agreement between CIS countries on social and legal guarantees of servicemen, demobbed servicemen and members of their families.
The SGG will also consider issues of electing the chairman of the Coordination Council on Air Defence, attached to the Council of CIS Defence Ministers, and the chairman of the Executive Committee - the Executive Secretary of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
The presidents are to determine the date, the site and agenda proposals of the next SGG meeting.
In addition, heads of state will discuss preparations for the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War, the adoption of the programme of CIS military-technical cooperation and new edition of the convention on legal assistance and legal relationship on civil, family and criminal cases.
The convention on standards of democratic elections, electoral rights and freedoms in CIS countries, the agreement on the protection of participants in criminal proceedings and the protocol on the order of organisation and holding of joint anti-terrorist measures in CIS territory are also on the agenda.
Heads of state are to discuss other documents - the agreement on the formation of the council of chairmen of superior arbitration, economic and other courts, involved in economic cases.
They will also consider Moldova's proposals on the development of separate trends of the concept of establishing a CIS informational space and the activities of the interstate foundation of assistance to refugees and the interstate Eurasian coal and metal association.
