Bosnia fulfils in the main conditions set by European Union

Bosnia and Herzegovina has fulfilled in the main all the conditions set to it by the European Union. This statement was made in Sarajevo by EC commissioner for foreign-policy issues Christopher Patten.

He said that he would recommend the European Commission to start a specific study of Bosnia and Herzegovina's possible accession to the European Union. At the same time, the European commissioner underscored the importance of the forthcoming elections in Bosnia and expressed a hope that the country's citizens will vote for European integration.

Chris Patten is to visit the capital of Bosnian Serbs, Banja Luka, to take part in a roundtable discussion on issues of Bosnia' future.
