On Friday Vice-Premier and Minister of Finance Alexei Kudrin is leaving for the USA where he will take part in the autumn session of the IMF and of the World Bank, as well as in a meeting of the Finance Ministers of the G-8 countries. As the government apparatus reported, at the meeting of the G-8 financiers for the first time ever Kudrin will not deliver a report on the situation in the Russian economy. It was a traditional item of the agenda of all the previous meetings of this kind with the participation of the Russian representative. As RIA Novosti's interlocutor noted, this is linked with the fact that the state of the Russian economy does not rouse questions on the part of the Finance Ministers of the world's leading countries. They hold the view that the economy of Russia has been developing stably.
The source said that Kudrin is expected to participate in the discussion of the questions on the agenda of the meeting of the Finance Ministers, including the questions of struggle against the funding of terrorism, as well as the problems of rendering assistance to the poorest countries.
As it is expected, Kudrin's visit will last till Sunday.
