During a meeting in Samarkand on Friday, the experts from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan discussed the draft of the accord on establishing a non-nuclear zone in the region.
According to a RIA Novosti correspondent, who quotes the sources in the UN Mission in Uzbekistan, the participants agreed that the signing of the accord "must take place as soon as possible." The sources reveal that the draft of the accord is a result of "five years of intensive work with the UN assistance."
