Moscow and Vienna stand on common positions on the majority of key international problems. A RIA Novosti correspondent reports that Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Igor Ivanov spoke about it on Wednesday at a meeting with Austrian Foreign Minister Benita Ferrero-Waldner.
According to Igor Ivanov, Moscow is satisfied with the positive development of Russian-Austrian relations. This first of all concerns political contacts at a high and highest levels. These contacts, according to Igor Ivanov, have already acquired a regular and very constructive character, they give a tone to the development of relations between the two countries.
Igor Ivanov said that Russia and Austria were successfully cooperating in the international arena, both within the framework of the United Nations and in European organisations.
The Russian Foreign Minister expressed the hope that in the course of the present consultations the sides would be able "to revise" their bilateral relations and to exchange opinions on the international problems.
