Chilean President Ricardo Lagos and St. Petersburg governor Vladimir Yakovlev have discussed issues of development of bilateral cooperation, a RIA Novosti correspondent reports.
In particular, Ricardo Lagos was interested in St. Petersburg's experience in arranging jubilee festivities. The president said that in 2010 Chile would mark the 300th anniversary of its independence and he was eager to study St. Petersburg's experience in this field. The Petersburg governor told the Chilean president about the course of arrangements for the jubilee of the city and invited him to attend the festivities.
In addition to that, the Petersburg governor and the Chilean President discussed prospects for economic cooperation, in particular, the use of St. Petersburg sea port's capacities.
