During his one-day visit to Tbilisi, Sergei Mironov, speaker of the Federation Council (the upper chamber of Russian parliament), will have a meeting with Nino Burdzhanadze, head of the Georgian parliament.
The Federation Council reports that the Mironov programme of stay plans a tete-a-tete meeting with Burdzhanadze and a meeting in the Four format between Mironov and the parliamentary speakers of Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Earlier, Mironov said in a conversation with reporters that in discussion at these meetings will be "the entire range of Russian-Georgian relations". "The upper chamber of the Russian parliament works directly with Georgian colleagues and maintains close contact with them," he said.
The whole range of problems of the Caucasian region will also be in consideration at these get-togethers.
On Saturday Sergei Mironov is expected to see a football match between the national teams of Russia and Georgia. The match will be held within the football trials tournament preceding the 2004 European championship.
