30th Tennis Championship of Asia to be Held in Capital of Uzbekistan

Athletes from India, Indonesia, China, Korea, Japan, Pakistan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Iran, Sri Lanka and other countries will vie for honours on the tennis courts of the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent, from October 14th to 20th.

The winners of the championship in men's and women's singles will qualify for this year's first Grand Slam tournament - the Australian Open, RIA Novosti was told in the Tennis Federation of Uzbekistan.

Each country can be represented in the championship by two men and two women players.

As many as 43 states of Asia are members of the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF).
