Kazakh, U.S. and Turkish militants strengthen trilateral cooperation

The press service of the Kazakh Defence Ministry told RIA Novosti on Monday that spokesmen of the Kazakh, U.S. and Turkish Defence Ministries had discussed issues of trilateral military cooperation in the town of Aktau on the Caspian Sea.

During the meeting the parties discussed the implementation of military cooperation issues as well as issues concerning the provision of the Kazakh Armed Forces with up-to-date military equipment.

On the same day Kazakh Defence Minister Mukhtar Altynbayev arrived in the Kazakh Western military district located in the Caspian sea area. According to the Press service of the Kazakh Defence Ministry, Mr. Altynbayev "examined the military infrastructure situation in the Western region of the country." The Kazakh Defence Ministry stressed that "Kazakh as well as foreign oil and gas companies had their interests in the region." In this connection, "Kazakhstan pays much attention to security of economic objects in the region, in particular, to anti-subversive and anti-terrorist activities."
