Russia is to display a large number of anti-ship weapons and air defense means, demonstrating their models, and showing them in posters and video films, at the international Euronaval-2002 exhibition, which is to open on October 21 at Le Bourget near Paris.
Displayed at Le Bourget will be, among other things, Russian anti-ship missile systems armed with heavy supersonic Moskit and Yakhont missiles, a RIA Novosti correspondent was told in the Rosoboronexport state enterprise. According to the enterprise's representative, a Moskit missile is capable of breaking through any of the existing ship-based air defense and anti-missile systems."
A new universal system of the Klub type armed with three missiles and designed for surface vessels and submarines is of interest as well. Smaller anti-ship missile systems with laser and optical-electronic targeting devices will also be on display at Le Bourget.
According to Rosoboronexport spokesmen, the company offers to its potential clients at Euronaval-2002 not only modern naval arms but also "comprehensive solutions of national naval problems," with due account of the economic capability of a client.
