Putin won't deliver Yanukovych to Ukraine - expert

General Prosecutor of Ukraine asked Russia to extradite former President Viktor Yanukovych, Prosecutor General of Ukraine Vitaly Yarema said.

Yarema said that the Ukrainian law enforcement agencies can not achieve the delivery of Viktor Yanukovych and members of his government, who, according to investigators, remain on the territory of the Russian Federation.

Pravda.Ru asked political scientist, the head of the political expert, Konstantin Kalachev, to comment on the situation.

"Given the rhetoric from the current Ukrainian leadership, given the fact that the legitimacy of the sitting Kiev government is questionable, I think it's very unlikely that Yanukovych will be delivered to Ukraine. For Moscow, sacrificing its yesterday's ally is like losing face. Why do they raise this question now? It seems that a lot of time has passed so why raising this subject? I think it's all part of the discussions related to Ukrainian pilot Nadezhda Savchenko, who remains under arrest in Russia. Both Russia and Ukraine will continue putting pressure on each other," said Konstantin Kalachev.

"When Yanukovych moved to Russia, he received certain guarantees. Putin will not extradite him to Ukraine. Vladimir Vladimirovich keeps his word. But never say never."
