A regular meeting of the permanent commission of the Interparliamentary Assembly (MPA) of member-states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) for defence and security will be held on October 23-26 in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.
RIA Novosti learned from the press service of the CIS MPA that the participants in the meeting would examine inter-state programs of joint steps to combat crime and drug trafficking in the years 2003-2004. The agenda also includes the discussion of model legislative acts "On state Secrets," "On the Regulation of Lobbyist Activities in the State Power Bodies," "On the Rules of the Stay and Registration of Citizens on the Territory of the CIS Member-states" and others.
Apart from that, the members of the MPA CIS commission for defence and security will discuss the results of the St. Petersburg inter-parliamentary forum on anti-terrorist struggle, as well as the 6th Petersburg economic forum.
