According to the statement made today at a press conference by Gennady Bukayev, Minister of Tax Revenue of the Russian Federation, increasing the speed of exchange of information is the top priority in cooperation between the Tax Agencies of Russia and Sweden. The press conference was about the 6th Session of the Council of Tax Agencies of the Countries of the Baltic Region.
The minister noted that a Russian-Swedish workgroup for automatic exchange of information had been created to achieve this. Russia and Sweden annually exchange several delegations of tax professionals. The latest such Russian delegation returned from Stockholm just a week ago.
In turn, Alf Nilsson, General Director of the National Tax Agency of Sweden, said that constant professional contacts between the tax agencies of the two countries were needed, if effective cooperation was to be achieved. There must also be a solid legal platform based on intergovernmental agreements.
