Moscow enthusiastically welcomes US intention to put Chechen separatists on the "black list"

The RF Foreign Ministry welcomed the news that the U.S. government is considering the possibility of including the Chechen separatists groups in the list of terrorist organizations compiled by the US State Department, announced on Saturday the RF Foreign Ministry official Alexander Yakovenko.

"In our opinion this decision could be a clear sign that our countries are not only becoming real partners, but they are also actively and fruitfully participating in the anti-terrorist coalition," he underlined.

On Thursday, the American mass media reported that Bush Administration has been considering the issue of including the Chechen separatists groups in the list of international terrorist organizations, which is updated annually by the U.S. Department of State.

The inclusion in the list means that all financial and material assets of those organizations would be frozen, their members would be denied entry visas to the USA, and the U.S. special services would start closely monitoring and actively intervening in the actions of their leaders and structures, wherever they conduct their activities.
