German Political Scientist: Kaliningrad Problem Will End in Compromise

According to the statement a German Political Scientist, Alexander Rar made to a Rosbalt's reporter, the problem of the Kaliningrad Region will be eventually sorted out and end in a compromise. Mr. Rar believes that, sooner than not, people riding to mainland Russia on trains will be allowed to go without visas while motorists will have to obtain them. Still, in order to ride on trains through Lithuania, Russia's citizens will have to obtain special inserts for their passports, that is, control tickets. This will allow Lithuanians to keep the movement of Russians under control.

This kind of compromise, he said, while allowing Lithuania to control the flow of Russia's citizens will help President Putin to save face.
