Suspects of Belarus subway bombing to be executed by shooting. 46010.jpegOn November 30, the Supreme Court of Belarus delivered the sentence on the case of the bombing in the subway of Minsk, the capital of Belarus. Dmitry Konovalov and Vladislav Kovalev were sentenced to death penalty by shooting.

The court found the two men guilty of organizing the terrorist act in the subway of the Belarusian capital on April 11, 2011. The young men delivered the bomb to the rented apartment, the verdict said. Konovalov took the explosive device to the subway and conducted the explosion, while Kovalev was assisting him, Metro Russia said.

Konovalov was also found guilty of conducting an explosion in July 2008 during the celebrations of Independence Day. Kovalev was found guilty of not reporting the crime.

The explosion on Oktyabrskaya station of the Minsk subway took place during the evening rush hour on April 11, 2011. Twelve people were killed on the scene; the death toll subsequently climbed to 15. Over 200 people were injured, including three Russian citizens. The crime was categorized as a terrorist act. Belarusian special services arrested several suspects the following day.
