US airman gets 18 years of imprisonment for rape

An airman got 18 years in jail Friday for the rape of two colleagues at a U.S. military base in Britain.

Renato Sanchez Del Carpio, 22, was convicted at a court martial of raping two women at the U.S. Air Force base in Lakenheath, southern England.

He attacked one colleague in Oct. 2005 and a second in Oct. 2006, a U.S. Air Force official at the base told Britain's Press Association.

The official said the U.S. airman will serve his sentence in a military prison in America and has been dishonorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force.
