Russian Muslims Declare Jihad on US

The Central Muslim Spiritual Board in Russia has declared jihad or 'holy war' on the United States. As RTR television channel reports, this was announced today by Supreme Mufti in Russia Talgat Tadjuddin.

He added that this is only the second time since the beginning of the 20th century that jihad has been declared on another country in Russia. The first jihad was declared by Russian Muslims on Germany in 1941. 'Russian Muslims have effective ways of opposing the US. For example, we are going to raise money to buy weapons for the war against Iraq and to provide food for the Iraqi people,' said the mufti. Mr Tadjuddin did not give details of what jihad would actually involve. However, he emphasised that results of the Islamic holy war would already be visible within 2-3 days.
