Deputy of the Lithuanian parliament Birute Veisaite called upon women of Lithuania not to have sex with those men, who support the war in Iraq. In deputy's opinion, bloody wars are unleashed by men, while women are not capable of preventing them from doing so, since women’s access to money and power is rather limited. The deputy said that women are only left to count for their “natural weapon” in this case.
Birute Veisaite voted for sending a small Lithuanian military unit in the area of the Persian Gulf, albeit the point of the unit’s mission was humanitarian.
