Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov is holidaying in the North-West of Russia.
Journalists were told in the government information department that he was sailing together with his family on a ship on the lakes and rivers of Karelia and the Leningrad Region.
Kasyanov has already visited Valaam island where he saw the local places of interest, visited the famous Valaam monastery and the first Christian churches of ancient Rus. On Tuesday he visited Verkhniye Mandrogi with its elk nursery, the only one in the country's North-West, its zoo-farm and handicraft village.
On the Premier's itinerary is a visit to the Island of Kizhi and Lake Onega, where the unique historical, cultural and nature complex is situated representing various aspects of the traditional culture and folk architecture of the Northern peoples.
In the next few days Kasyanov also intends to visit Vologda and Yaroslavl. From there he will fly to Sochi (a Black Sea resort) where he will spend the second half of his holiday that will last until August 11th.
