Russian women tennis players stay in World tennis elite

Russian women tennis players have qualified for the World Group next year.

Within the qualification match of the Federation Cup competition last weekend the national team of Russia confidently overpowered the team of China 2-0.

Tatyana Panova and Yelena Dementyeva played for Russia's national team. Panova was the first to play and scored an easy win over representative of the host squad Zheng Ze 6-3, 6-1. And then Yelena Dementyeva downed Sun Tingting 6-2, 6-3.

So, next year the Russian women tennis players will compete in the World Group of the Federation Cup contest.

The national team of Russia had to play qualification matches after it lost to the German squad 1-2 in the first round of the Federation Cup competition.
