A major surprise of the national sumo championships which ended in the Japanese city of Nagoya on Sunday was the confident performance of Russian sumo wrestler Ruslan Borzov in it. He competed under the name of Rokho. The 22-year-old athlete who lives and trains in Japan scored seven victories in the lowest jo-no-kuchi category having become the absolute winner in it. "Sumo is a very difficult sport, and I am very glad that I have won," said the Russian athlete who participated in a Japanese national tournament for the first time.
The national title went to Chotaikai, 26. The athlete who has the second highest rank, o-zeki, won the National Championships Cup for the second time.
