Novgorod "Brazilians" defeat Novgorod "Germans" in North Russian World Cup final

Football lovers in the Novgorod region, the North-West federal district, have held their own World Cup final between Novgorod "Brazilians" and Novgorod "Germans".

The "alternative" final took place at the stadium in Chechulino, a suburb of the ancient Russian city of Veliky Novgorod.

The initiators of the match were the Chechulino sport complex workers and local football fans.

Any Novgorod citizen, supporting the Brazilian or the German team could take part in the match. Both adults and teenagers played for each team. Before a large audience the local "Brazilians", as their "fellow countrymen" in Japan, managed to defeat the "Germans". Yet the Novgorod final saw many more goals, as the final score was 10:9.
