On Saturday the meeting of shareholders of the popular non-governmental radio station "Echo of Moscow" elected the new board of directors. It was made up of 4 representatives of both the "Gazprom-Media" company and the journalists' team along with one independent candidate.
Gazprom-Media, an affiliate company of the Russian gas monopoly "Gazprom" company, owns the controlling bloc of shares of the radio station. Boris Jordan, the general director of the "Gazprom-Media" company, was unanimously elected chairman of the directors' board.
The current General director of the radio station Yuri Fedutinov and editor-in-chief Alexei Venediktov did not become members of the management of the station, the issue of their replacement should be resolved by the end of the year.
