Politicians adopt animals

The Will of St Petersburg regional political and public movement has received a certificate for “adoption” of a 12-year-old Asian lion called Murphy, who lives in St Petersburg zoo. The decision to patronize the king of animals was not casual, because lion is painted on the organization emblem.

The foster parents decorated the cage of the lion with a picture presenting a landscape of the remote motherland of their adopted child. In honour of the adoption, a reception was carried out: the tray with meat was presented to the lion by the speaker of RF Federation Council and chairman of the movement’s political council, Sergei Mironov.

Apropos, it is not such a cheap pleasure to care for a lion: support of Murphy will cost for the politicians 140 thousand rubles (approximately $ 4.300) a year. The lion eats six times a week, 6 kg of meat every day, with fasting day on Tuesday.
