Finalists of the 12th International competition named after Tchaikovsky have been announced. The violinists, pianists and cellists finished the second tour of the competition.
According to the rules, the third tour in each nomination - it starts on June 18th - admits 8 participants.
Out of 22 violinists who took part in the second tour, performers from Japan, the USA, China, Germany, as well as four Russians will continue the competition.
Out of 28 pianists, representatives of China, South Korea, Japan, Belarus and Ukraine, as well as three Russians will go further.
Out of 25 cellists, performers from France, Germany, Armenia, the USA, Belgium and Russia will take part in the third tour. This nomination is dominated by German representatives, as three of them have qualified for the finals.
The third tour for violinists and pianists will be held in the halls of the Moscow conservatory, for cellists - at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall.
The results will be announced on June 21st. The closing ceremony is due on June 23rd.
