An international photo exhibition called "Special Task Exhibition" opens in the Barents Sea port city of Murmansk in memory of the operation to salvage the nuclear submarine Kursk, reported the Russian president's Information Department.
The event was organized by the Russian Red Cross and supported by the presidential Information Department. Yury Yevdokimov, the Governor of the Murmansk region, and Gennady Suchkov, the Northern Fleet Commander, are expected to speak at the opening.
The exhibition presents around 150 photographs showing the crew of the sunken submarine, different stages of the salvage operation, transportation of the wreck, and the process of drydocking.
From Murmansk, the exhibition will move on to St. Petersburg, Rotterdam, Copenhagen, and a few other cities in Russia and abroad.
