Soviet artist Kazimir Malevich acknowledged the main wag of 20th century

All-Russian Banana Party of the city of Volgograd has awarded Soviet artist Kazimir Malevich with a special medal “For Victory over Permafrost” of 3rd degree. The medal was awarded to the famous painter for the best joke of 20th century: the president of Interros financial and industrial group, Vladimir Potanin bought for State Hermitage Museum Malevich’ obviously trifling picture “Black Square” at the price of 1 million dollars. The above-mentioned medal was set up by the Banana Party May 12, 1994, and since that time, it was handed over 46 times. On the medal, a small monkey in valenki and cap with ear-flaps is pictured, eating with pleasure a cucumber. Moreover, one of the party’s members painted Square in the name of Malevich picture: the canvas presents the well-known life-seize square, though in yellow colour. The picture will be offered to the Hermitage, though only for 1,000 dollars.
