Russian President Vladimir Putin watched a Thursday workout of the Russian national football team, after which he had his picture taken with the players and the coaches.
After that, he had a conference with President of the Russian Olympic Committee Leonid Tyagachev, Chairman of the State Sports Committee Vyacheslav Fetisov, chief of the Russian Football Union Vyacheslav Koloskov, and the chief coach of the Russian national football team, Oleg Romantsev. The latter reported the progress of the team's preparations for the world football championship.
The president also wanted to know what had to be done to perfect the skills of Russian football players in general and the national team in particular.
